The Brazilian Bar Association of Rio de Janeiro (OAB-RJ) creates a Commission on Digital Law in Agribusiness, and Vilton Lima joins the group.
New committee will discuss crop tokenization, digital assets, and legal security in the agricultural sector.

The Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Section (OAB-RJ), announced the creation of the Commission on Digital Law in Agribusiness and Crop Tokenization. The new group aims to monitor the technological transformations impacting the sector, especially in areas related to digital assets, traceability, smart contract models, and legal security in the production environment.
Among the nominated members is Vilton Lima, author of the work From Salt to Soil. The presence of professionals with direct experience in the field reinforces the intention of the OAB-RJ (Brazilian Bar Association - Rio de Janeiro chapter) to bring productive practice closer to the legal debate that arises with the digitalization of agribusiness.
During a visit to the institution on the occasion of the creation of the commission, Vilton Lima presented the president of the OAB-RJ with..., Ana Tereza Basilio, a copy of the book From Salt to Soil. The work brings together field observations, experiments, and technical fundamentals applied to livestock farming developed in tropical regions. The initiative was well-received and highlighted the importance of integrating agronomic knowledge and legal perspectives at a time when new technologies are beginning to redefine production processes.
The commission is expected to analyze emerging regulations, study the impacts of crop tokenization, and provide guidance on the use of digital technologies applied to agriculture. The expectation is that the group will contribute to a broader understanding of how digital practices can add value and security to production chains.
